Last week we just had a session with SJSU Alumni on how your mindset is so important for preparing for the interviews. We had a nice small group conversation with the intention to help our juniors to familiarize them with the Resume building and Interview tips.
As Dridhata aims to help people strengthen the mindset, it is so great to start with your roots and try to make a difference in the minds of people where I was standing some years back. As the belief that holds this organization strong which is "You help me and I help you, that's how we create this world a better place." We talked about Academics, Default Settings, Adopt Beautiful changes to enable us for success.
Academic:
I talked about myself, academics about how your resume is the litmus paper is the first impression to the recruiter who may hire you, how your behavior in an interview can put trust in the interviewer of your capability, how you can leverage adversity when you don't know the answer. We asked Dridhata team members to shared some interview tips:
What if you don't know the answer to the Question the interviewer asked. How do you respond?
What do you do when the interviewer is being rude, or talking down on you?
What is the best resume writing tip you have learned during all these years?
What is the interview hack/trick you had which you think helped you stand out from the crowd?
How did you gain more and more confidence for facing the interview?
While we want to continue helping you, we are asking people around to add their suggestions which may help you. Also, if you have one; what are you waiting for. Go add your answer here in comments that can help someone else.
Default Settings :
We talked about How I see there are some default settings in Indian women especially that makes us less confident despite knowing. How we don't believe in our own capabilities and don't trust ourselves makes it difficult for people to believe and trust in us. How we should speak up, say no, have boundaries, ask Questions if you disagree.
Adapt Beautiful changes
Last we talked about what are some beautiful changes we want to adapt. Ask Questions when you disagree or need help not thinking at all about what people will think of me. Because people with a growth-oriented mindset are going to think you are curious and keen to learn. Questions open the doors to the answer you want. It's simple. Show yourself and what you aspire to people. I realized I have got great teachers and mentors, but I think I always showcased in some way or other what I aspire, so someone would love to help me and want me to succeed. Speak up if its wrong, ask for what you deserve(e.g: Promotions). Forgive yourself, Don't take yourself too seriously.
While we just had our first talk and it went much better than what we thought, we are so much more motivated to help more. We would love to get your views on what other things you would want us to talk about. As you know we have a group of people who are motivated like us to help you out from different industries around the world. :) Also, if you have any feedback and comments you would like to share it would help us get better to help you.
You can reach us out and if you want to see the recording of the session, please email us. See you guys soon.
